If you, like me, are not necessarily a bread baker—focaccia is for us!
It’s one of the easiest, beginner-friendly bread recipes I can think of with just flour, yeast, water, salt and olive oil—and in the case of no-knead recipes, hardly any technique required.
As someone pointed out on Instagram, fresh focaccia is pretty much a one-way ticket to iconic summer sandwiches. Thinking layers of pesto and mozzarella, avocado and crispy kale, roasted tomatoes or spicy eggplant and pistachio cream?!
Personally, I’m excited to make my favorite hummus and muhammara and slather them all over a slab of focaccia with lots of fresh veggies and then go soak up the sun at the beach or park.
And reminder: any slightly stale leftover focaccia is destined for great croutons or a panzanella salad!
